My first earthquake

Hey everybody.

I was told by a buddy of mine that the SF Bay Area gets an earthquake a day. I hadn't known that till now. I never felt them.

Well today, that changed. lol.

At 8:04 pm pacific time, we got a 5.6 earthquake. Not huge, but still pretty big. Thats what the people here say, but hey, I'm from New York, we don't do earthquakes (though NY is capable of getting them).

The first thing I heard was like, a bang. Then everything started to shake and the ground felt like it was rolling. At first, I didn't know what it was, then it hit me, and I ran for a doorway to stand between (does this actually work?) I thought the world was coming to an end or something. I was like "OH SHIT!!! THIS IS THE END!!!" luckily though everything was okay. I turned on the news, and to them, it was "moderate." Seems other east coasters who have never experienced an earthquake it was like the second coming if you know what I mean. I'm pretty shaken up. When it first happened and we were getting aftershocks (and continue to) I was pretty shaken up (no pun intended).

I'm okay now though. Nothing was damaged.

I think some people though I was lying, so here's a link thats proof of it.

Anyways, till next time people. PEACE!!!

Here we go again

Started a Blog....for some reason didn't pop up....bastids.

Anywho. I've been basically not busy for the last few days. It was the calm before the storm, cause today was lots of hardwork. For those of you who don't know, I'm in the middle of making a short film, and don't let "short film" fool you, its a ton of work. I'll go over the details.

- Come up with a script - Me and 5 other people come up with a script. We each wrote our own scenes. It was interesting cause we were concerned with consistency with the main character. Luckily, we were right on.

- Casting - This is obvious. We were pretty happy with the cast we got. Our main character was perfectly casted, as was a couple of other characters. So far, lots of good acting.

- Floor Diagrams - Come up with the lighting and camera work in the area we'll be shooting in. Lots of assuming, very tough.

- Story Board - We took pictures of us doing the actions then put them in order of what each of our visions was. This was actually pretty long.

- Production Binder - This is the blue print of the movie. It has all the rough details. Cast, props, script, screen shots, story boards, etc. And as my fellow groupmates can tell you, its a hassle to put together.

All that, and we haven't even filmed anything! Nor have we even started post production! Did I mention me and a few others are collaborating on a song for the movie?

Now onto production.

- Get equipment
- Load up truck
- Drive to location
- Unload truck
- Set up equipment
- Film scene
- Film it again
- Again
- This time from different angle
- Next angle
- Again
- Break down equipment
- Repeat above.

Its long and hard, but I'm actually really enjoying it. I love the way my scene turned out. We had a scare with the audio, but it turned out everything was okay....thank God. And me and a few of my mates and producer finished the day with an ice cold beer and delicious hamburger. I forgot where we went, but its in Berkeley, and the food was delicious, though I will say, the brewery's here have NOTHING on Bluepoint beer. I hope I can get some of that over here.

The only thing that would have made today better is Dunkin Donuts. Yes folks, there are NO Dunkin Donuts around here. Thats a shame and a tragedy. A 24 hour Dunkin Donuts would do INSANE business where I live. People coming to and from San Francisco, ontop of the fact that Berkeley campus is less than 10 minutes away. And also Oakland is just south of me. WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR DUNKIN DONUTS!!!! EXPAND OUT HERE!!!!! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!! THE COFFEE HERE SUCKS!!!!

Friday is our last filming day. There we'll do about 3 or 4 more scenes, then we go into the Final Cut Pro suites to edit the movie. Also me and my groupmates are working on a song for the movie. Should have a copy of it in my hands come Christmas time, so of course I'll be showing it off.

Until we meet again. Peace
